Where a partner is stronger than we are.

Each candidate pairs a topic with an indexed peer institution that holds more publications in it than this institution does, together with the peer researchers whose indexed work sits in that topic.

Evidence basis. Complementarity is measured on indexed publication counts per topic, so it reflects the portion of each institution's output currently held in the Scholaris index. Researcher lists are drawn from the authorship records attached to those publications.
